As a support service of Umicore Precious Metals (Thailand) Ltd., the Laboratory Department has a wealth of expertise and experience in the analysis of metals, either precious metals and base metals, as well as electroplating solution.

We offer a special service on gold and silver assays, performed by Cupellation (Fire assay) which is the most accurate technique for gold assay. In addition to this we have Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICP) and Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) which are routinely used to determine other elements including Palladium, Platinum, Rhodium, Ruthenium, Copper, Nickel, Iron, Cobalt, Tin, Zinc, Indium, Manganese, Cadmium , Lead etc.

Powder samples can be analyzed by Crucible Assay to determine their gold or silver content.

Furthermore, we also offer analytical service for electroplating solutions, e.g. KCN, HCl, HNO₃ H₂SO₄ and K₂CO₃, performed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICP) or Titration method. In addition to this we have pH meter and Areometer which are used to determine pH and density respectively.
